Vondracek's back was broken as a result of the accident.nVondracek, who is 26 and unmarried was thrown from the wagon and struck upon his shoulders, the force of the fall causing a fracture of the vertebrae. The man was completely paralyzed. The injured man was brought to this city and taken to the hospital where examination revealed the extent of injury. An operation was performed in hope of saving the man's life, but his condition is extremely critical and little hope is entertained that he can recover.nVondracek's vertebrae was fractured right below the shoulders and small pieces of broken bone were removed in the operation. The accident happened on one of the streets at Reedsville Saturday afternoon and was witnessed by a number of people.nnFrom Manitowoc Daily Herald, Friday, March 31, 1916, P. 3:nThe funeral for Albert Vondrachek, Reedsville, who died as result of injuries suffered in a runaway accident nearly a year ago, was held at Reedsville Wednesday and was largely attended. Mr. Vondrachek suffered permanent injury to his spine in the accident and was at the hospital here several months.
