a) Died of stomach ulcers, heart couldn't take the surgerynAttended Neva and Springbrook graded schools. After completing two years in Antigo High School, he attended St. Procopius college in Lisle, Illinois, and was graduated from the commercial accounting course there in 1911. For five years he substituted on city mail delivery routes and on runs of local brakemen and conductors for the C. & N. W. road. During the war he was a sergeant in 108th squadron, aviation section signal corps. Since 1919, he was a regular mail carrier in the sixth ward of the city of Antigo. He was taken ill early in November and left for the National Soldiers' home on Nov. 11th. He underwent an operation for ulcers of the stomach. Because of heart trouble, he failed to regain his health.
