a) Obituary from Green Bay Press Gazette, 5/23/2000:nRaymond (Ray) Geigel, 93, former longtime resident of Green Bay and currently a resident of Milwaukee, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in Milwaukee. He was born July 26, 1906, in Cato Falls, Wis., to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Eigenberger) Geigel. Ray graduated from Kiel High School and Manitowoc Vocational School. He married the former Marian H. VanDeuren in 1934. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was employed by Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for 18 years before his entry into the real estate business in Green Bay, in 1945. He was a Real Estate Broker until his retirement in 1972. Ray was an active member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Green Bay, the Green Bay Elks Lodge #259 and holds an honorary life membership in the Knights of Columbus #617. In July 1996, Ray moved to the National Regency (Assisted Living Center) in New Berlin, Wis. and later relocated to Sunrise Care Center in Milwaukee.nHe is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and James Byers, Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Peter Geigel, New Berlin, Wis.; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Albin Geigel, Manitowoc.nHe was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur.nFriends may call at St. Mary of the Angels Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave., after 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Ray's nephew, the Rev. John VanDeuren officiating. Burial in the Allouez Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
