She was born in St. Nazianz and has a bachelor's degree from Alverno College (1967). Sr. Loretta Jo has lived her ministry as a teacher, homemaker, and sacristan and currently resides in Campbellsport.nnObituary Catholic Times, Sunday, December 14, 2014:nMilwaukee - Sister Loretta Jo Geigel, a School Sister of St. Francis who lived her religious vocation in education, died Nov 19 at Sacred Heart Convent in Milwaukee. She was 104 years old,nThe daughter of Joseph and Anna Geigel, she was born May 1, 1910 in Manitowoc Wis. She was received into the School Sisters of St. Francis June 15, 1926. She made her first profession of vows Aug 23, 1928, and final (perpetual) vows Aug 23, 1934.nBeginning in 1927, Sister Loretta Jo ministered in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota for nearly 9 decades. In the diocese of Springfield, Illinois, she taught at St. James School in Decatur from 1927-1928 and served as a homemaker at St. James Convent in Decatur from 1935-1946.nSister Loretta Jo is survived by many nices, nephews, cousins, friends and the School Sisters of St. Francis, with whom she shared her life for 88 years.nA funeral liturgy was held Nov. 26 at St. Joseph Convent in Milwaukee. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee.
