a) Sister Flavia Hochman, age 91, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Monday, February 9, 1998, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 1998, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Agnes Marie Hochman was born March 23, 1906, in Francis Creek, daughter of the late Anton and Catherine Vondracek Hochman. She entered the Convent in 1920 and professed her vows in 1924. Sister Flavia earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wis. Sister Flavia served as an elementary teacher St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Rose, Clintonville; St. John, Antigo; St. Mary, Bloomington; St. Anthony, Oconto Falls; St. Boniface, Manitowoc; St. Joseph, Rice Lake; St. Mary, Rhinelander; Corpus Christi, Sturgeon Bay; SS. Peter and Paul, Kiel; St. Mary, Clarks Mills; Holy Rosary, Kewaunee; St. John the Baptist, Plymouth; St. Mary, Brillion; St. Mary, Greenleaf; St. Joseh (Alverno), Manitowoc; St. Francis de Sales, Manistique; St. Anne, Menominee; St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Mich.; and St. Agnes Mingo Junction, Ohio. Since her retirement from the teaching profession in 1981, she had been residing at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister-in-law, Rose Hochman, Whitelaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 1998, at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting with funeral arrangements.
