a) Joseph J. Svtek, 80, formerly of Route 2, Reedsville, died early Saturday
morning, Feb. 18, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church,
Reedsville, preceded by brief family rites at 10 a.m. at Reedsville Funeral
Home. Father David Pleier will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Svatek was born March 18, 1903, at Rockland, son of the late Frank and
Antonia Dvorachek Svatek. He married the former Clara Cisler on June 29, 1927,
at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The couple farmed in the Town of
Rockland for 39 years, retiring in 1968. Mr. Svatek was a member of The Holy
Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph
and Jean Svatek of St. Petersburg, Florida, Frances Svatek of Brillion and John
and Ardyce Svatek of Brillion; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Mary
(Robert) Newton of Oshkosh and Clara Svatek of Manitowoc; a brother and a
sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Svatek of Reedsville, 14 grandchildren and three
great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survived.
He was preceded in death by three infant children and a sister.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday evening.
Holy Name Society rosary at 7:30 p.m. and at 8:00 a parish vigil service led
by Father Pleier.
