a) FROM A NEWSPAPER CLIPPING IN 1933 TITLED "FOUR GENERATIONS IN FAMILY"nPicture showed Mrs. Kirch, Mrs. Gerber, Mrs. Kochan and her daughter Lorraine, who was the two and a half years old.n"When a very young girl, "Grandma" Kirch came to this country with her parents, direct from Bohemia to Manitowoc County. They settled in the town of Cato, where the father bought a piece of timber land. There with his wife and three small children he set down to hard work clearing land. He started farming in the old pioneer way, and at the time of his death he left the farm to his daughter.nShortly afterward, in 1869, the daughter was married to John A. Kirch, and he took over the farm, operating it until his death in 1914. Since then, Mrs. Kirch has run the same farm with two of her sons (Frank and William) who are both single, and in spite of her advanced age, she still does much of the house work.nFive sons and two daughters are living, John of Cato, Charles of Rapid River, Mich., Joseph of Manitowoc, Frank and William at home, Mrs. Agnes Mercier of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Caroline Gerber of the town of Cato."
