Garrigan dies Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999 on her 96thnbirthday at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, Oconto, where shenhad been a resident since 1998. Kelly was born Sept. 28, 1903 in St.nNazianz, to the late Joseph and Anna (Milhaupt) Geigel. Kelly graduatednfrom Manitowoc County Training School for Teachers in 1921 and taughtnschool for two years at Millard Filmore School in Manitowoc. On Feb.n16, 1924 she married Gervase "Nubs" Garrigan in Chicago, Ill. where theynlived until they moved to Muskegon, MI in 1931. The couple then movednto the Five Corners area in Lena where they lived until 1978. Afternraising five children Kelly returned to teaching in 1946 and, until hernretirement in 1960, she taught at various schools in Oconto andnMarinette Counties. In 1978 Kelly and Nubs moved to Oconto where shenhas live since that time. Nubs died on May 22, 1979.nKelly is survived by two sisters, Eleanor Martin, Missoula, Montana;nand Sister Loretta Jo Geigel, Milwaukee; two brothers, Father FrancisnGeigel, Wabeno; Roy (Doris) Geigel, Huron, South Dakota; two daughters,nMary Jane Behling, West Allis; Dorothy Birk, Stockbridge; two sons,nMichael A. (Margaret) Garrigan, Sussex; Gerald F. (Darlene) Garrigan,nPortage; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and sevenngreat-great-grandchildren.nShe is preceded in death by one daughter, Noreen Hendricks, of Oconto,nwho died May 8, 1999.nThe family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher FuneralnHome, Oconto, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 with St. Anne'snRosary at 4:30 p.m. and Prayer Services at 7 p.m. Mass of ChristiannBurial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999 at Holy TrinitynParish St. Joseph Site, with the Rev. David C. Ruby and Rev. FrancisnGeigel officiating and burial at St. Charles Cemetery, Lena.
